Vice President (Human Resources)

The Vice President (Human Resources) will be responsible for overseeing and managing daily HR operations across multiple platforms though there will be variation on level of change and influence linked to the maturity of the platform. Mature platforms (eg Assetz) or Joint Ventures (eg Digital Edge) which have effective systems and people in place will require a significantly lower level of engagement.

Key areas of focus for FY26 would relate to:

  1. Policies and compliance – lead the unification of HR policies across India, ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations and labor laws (including PoSH Act & committees) with regard to both State and Central obligations.
  2. Recruitment – driving recruitment efforts for the respective platforms over the next 3-12 months to align talent acquisition with business needs.
  3. Enhancing business efficiency – leverage group synergy to streamline employee benefits and enhance group negotiation power. Use applicable tools incl Deel to standardise (where appropriate and desirable) the rhythm of the business in terms of planning, reviewing, performance assessment, incentive plans.

Our vision is for this position to evolve into a pan India leadership role, linking back to our Global HR function and working closely with each of the in business. HR Managers and supporting them in their engagement with their business leaders and employees. We envisage the evolution of a HR Shared Services function initially supporting only our Indian businesses, optimizing HR service delivery to enhance employee experience and operational efficiency.

HR Operations:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end HR services for the mentioned entities
  • Oversee payroll, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance to ensure smooth HR operations.
  • Establish and implement standardized HR processes across the group to enhance efficiency and consistency.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee queries and HR-related escalations.
  • Drive HR process automation and optimization to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Prepare and manage quarterly and annual HR reports (board reporting, investor reporting) to track key HR metrics for all India businesses, workforce trends, and compliance status.
  • Support fund-raising initiatives by providing necessary HR-related information for Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ), ensuring accurate and timely responses for investor and regulatory requirements.

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Strategy:

  • Lead recruitment efforts ensuring efficient, timely, and business-aligned hiring
  • Partner with business leaders and hiring managers to define workforce planning and recruitment strategies.
  • Develop talent pipelines and sourcing strategies using recruitment platforms, agencies, and professional networks.

Performance Management:

  • Implement performance management frameworks that align with business objectives.
  • Guide managers on performance reviews, goal setting, and employee development plans.
  • Drive continuous feedback mechanisms to enhance employee productivity and engagement.
  • Identify high-potential employees and work on career development strategies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure a culture of meritocracy and accountability.

Employee Lifecycle Management:

  • Manage all employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, transfers, promotions, exits, and retirements across AGP entities.
  • Implement HR self-service tools to enhance employee experience and reduce administrative workload.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with legal and company requirements.

Compliance & HR Governance:

  • Ensure HR operations comply with Indian labor laws, including EPF, ESIC, Gratuity, Shops & Establishment Act, and PoSH regulations.
  • Conduct HR audits to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Keep senior management informed of policy updates and labor law changes impacting HR operations.

Stakeholder Management & Employee Experience:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and business heads to align HR services with organizational goals.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to leadership and employees on HR best practices, talent strategy, and compliance.
  • Foster a culture of service excellence by ensuring transparent and efficient HR operations.

HR Projects:

HR Policy, Benefits Unification & Compliance Alignment:

  • Drive the unification of HR policies across AGP entities in India, ensuring legal compliance and best practices.
  • Align HR frameworks with regulatory requirements, including PoSH Act compliance, setting up committees, and awareness programs.
  • Standardize employee benefits across the organization to optimize group negotiation power for insurance, wellness programs, and other perks.
  • Collaborate with leadership to integrate HR policies that foster a unified and engaging workplace culture.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or HR certification is a plus.

Experience:

  • 10-15 years of experience in HR Operations, preferably in financial services, logistics, or multinational environments. Ideally understands the dynamic environment at startup phase.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, workforce planning, and HR transformation.
  • Experience in setting up or restructuring HR shared services is an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws and PoSH Act compliance.
  • Experience in HR process automation and benefits negotiation.
