AMPYR Australia Community Benefit Funds

Investing in communities through local benefit funds

Supporting community-led initiatives where we operate.

As Australia’s energy transition accelerates, AMPYR is committed to ensuring the benefits of our projects are shared with the communities where we operate.

Through our Community Benefit Funds (CBFs), we are investing directly in local initiatives, supporting projects that strengthen communities, celebrate local identity and respond to on-the-ground needs.

To date, AMPYR has committed more than $340,000 through these funds across our battery projects.

Supporting local priorities

Our Community Benefit Funds are designed to support a diverse range of initiatives identified by the community.

At the Bulabul Battery in Wellington, more than $100,000 has been awarded to local organisations, backing projects across youth development, cultural programs, sport, community infrastructure and local events.

From funding youth programs and safe community spaces to supporting cultural initiatives and local events, these investments are helping deliver tangible, lasting benefits.

Community-led impact

By placing communities at the centre of funding decisions, these initiatives reflect local priorities and create meaningful outcomes where they are needed most.

This approach strengthens connections with the community and supports long-term social value alongside the delivery of energy infrastructure.

Looking ahead

AMPYR will continue to expand its Community Benefit Funds across its project portfolio to deliver lasting value in the communities where we operate.

Among the recipients, the Friends of the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden received $5,000 to deliver the 2026 Port Augusta Desert Pea Festival, a celebration of native flora and environmental resilience.

“This event is designed to build greater community understanding around climate change, environmental health and the practical steps people can take in their own backyards.”

Brian Reichelt

Friends of the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden Vice President.

“We want to empower our community with knowledge, not just about the challenges of climate change, but about the real, achievable solutions available to us in arid regions.”

“Thanks to AMPYR’s generous support, we can help inspire greater stewardship of our unique arid landscapes.”
